Some Statistics Supporting the Lack of Basic Healthcare Facilities in Rural India
Most villagers have not seen a doctor in 10 years in spite of suffering from ailments
The price of health care in the villages is two to three times the price in the cities
41% of “doctors” in villages do not have a medical degree
On any visit to a doctor, less than 3% of patients will get tested;
68% will get an irrelevant injection; most likely containing vitamins, saline or
some harmless product
